The inspirational true story of a passionate teacher, Mr. “T”, played by John Leguizamo (Infiltrator, Ride Along, Son of Sam) who coaches a rag tag group of high school students on an amazing journey from their underprivileged Miami community all the way to qualify to compete in the US National Chess Championships. But with an underfunded school district, Principal Kestel, played by Grammy Award-winner Rachel Bay Jones (Modern Family, Law & Order), doesn’t have the budget to send them to Los Angeles. As a result, Mr. “T” and his team are forced to fight for their title in the tournament. The strategic game of Chess runs parallel to their own personal life struggles as Mr. “T” teaches them that the power of critical thinking can not only save their kings, but also their lives.
