BLOOD AND BONE
BLOOD & BONE stars actor and acclaimed martial artist, Michael Jai White (Undisputed II, The Dark Knight, Why did I get Married?, Black Dynamite), Julian Sands (Lipstick Jungle, A
Room with a View, Warlock), Nona Gaye (Crash, State of the Union) and Eamonn Walker (Lord of War, Unbreakable, Cadillac Records). BLOOD & BONE also features three of the biggest stars of mixed martial arts, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Fergusson, Gina “Conviction” Carano, and Bob “The Beast” Sapp.
Both Slice and Carano were winners by TKO in the CBS Extreme XC Primetime event last spring, which drew more than 4.3 million viewers. Bob Sapp is virtually a household name in Japan where his appearances in the and out of the ring draw incredible crowds.
Directed by Ben Ramsey (Love and a Bullet), BLOOD & BONE is the story of Isaiah Bone (Michael Jai White), a mysterious master-fighter who, after his release from prison, arrives on the inner-city streets of Los Angeles and takes on several of the meanest and toughest fighters from the world of back-alley street fighting, all organized by a vicious gang leader (Eamonn Walker). But is Bone in it just for the big money or does he have another agenda?
CMG President, Edward Noeltner says: “It’s a post-modern Urban Samurai movie, blending the dangerous world of gangster controlled underground Mixed Martial Arts with a visually stunning action-packed plot that will transport audiences into the world before “Ultimate” Fighting became mainstream. With the excitement around films such as “The Wrestler” and the world of extreme sports, BLOOD & BONE has worldwide appeal.”
Remarkable Films founders Nicholas Simunek and Matthew Binns recently produced Played starring Val Kilmer and Gabriel Byrne and produced BLOOD & BONE together with Michael Mailer (Empire). Simunek is also President of Remarkable Partners (co-owners of the Adelphi and Aldwych Theatres in London and the Marquis Theatre in New York) and deputy chairman of Handmade Films PLC.
Peter Storm, MMA fighter and founder of New York’s underground Combat League was a consultant to Remarkable Films on the picture and appears in the film in one of the most spectacular fight scenes yet to be seen on the big screen.
